Himachal Pradesh is Land of Gods and Goddesses. Himachal Pradesh known as “Dev Bhoomi” on the tourism map has numerous temples which are usually of four types: the rectangular stone & wood temples, with a pent roof and varndah; the rectangular stone & wood temples with Pagoda style successive wooden roofs, one on the top of the other; the tower like stone & wood temples with square size base & slopping roof; and a fusion of slopping roof & Pagoda style roof.

1. Shakti Devi or Chhatrari Temple

The Shakti Devi or Chhatrari Temple is situated in Chhatrari of Chamba District in Himachal Pradesh. This temple was constructed by the famous architecture “Gugga” during the reign of Meru Varman in the 7th century A.D. The main idol in this temple is of goddess Shakti.

2. Lakshna Devi Temple

The Lakshna Devi Temple is situated in Bharmour of Chamba District in Himachal Pradesh. This temple is devoted to Mahisha Mardani goddess Durga. This temple is also constructed by “Gugga” during the reign of Meru Varman.

3. Mani Mahesh Temple

The Mani Mahesh Temple is situated in Bharmour of Chamba District in Himachal Pradesh. This temple is devoted to Lord Shiva. And this temple is Built by Meru Varman.

4. Ganesh Temple

The Ganesh Temple is situated in Bharmour of Chamba District in Himachal Pradesh. This temple is devoted to Lord Ganesha. This temple is Built by Meru Varman.

5. Narshingha Temple

The Narshingha Temple is situated in Bharmour of Chamba District in Himachal Pradesh. This temple is devoted to Lord Vishnu (Narshingha). This temple is built by Tribhuvan Rekha Devi, The Queen of Yugakara Varman in 940 A.D.

6. Hari Rai Temple

The Hari Rai Temple is situated in Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh and built by Lakshman Varman in the 11th century.

7. Lakshmi Narayan Temple

The Lakshmi Narayan Temple is situated in Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh. This temple is constructed by Sahil Varman during (920-940 A.D.). It is group of six temples.

8. Chaurasi Temple

The Chaurasi Temple is situated in Bharmour of Chamba District in Himachal Pradesh. This is group of 84 temples and this temple was built in the 9th century.

9. Masrur Rock Cut Temple

The Masrur Rock Cut Temple is situated in Nagrota Surian (Teh. Dehra) of Kangra District in Himachal Pradesh. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple is also known as “Ellora of Himachal Pradesh” and built by the King Lalitadity of Kashmir in the 8th century.

10. Vajreshwari Temple

The Vajreshwari Temple is situated in Kangra District of Himachal Pradesh. The present structure of this temple was built by Desa Sing Majitha in the Sikh Style and Plundered by Mehmood Ghazani in 1009A.D. and Khawas Khan in 1540A.D.

11. Jawala Mukhi Temple

The Jawala Mukhi Temple is situated in Jawala Mukhi (Jawala Ji) of Kangra District in Himachal Pradesh. This temple Built by Raja Bhumi Chand of  Katoch Dynasty of Kangra.
In 1365A.D. Firoz Shah Tuglaq took possession of 300 volumes of Sanskrit books from the temple and translated into Persian under the title Dalai-e-Firozshahi by the court poet Aazz-ud-din Khalid Khani. In 1813A.D.Maharaja Ranjeet Singh built the golden dome of the temple.

12. Baijnath Temple

The Baijnath Temple is situated in Baijnath of Kangra District in Himachal Pradesh. This temple is Dedicated to Vaidyanath (Shiva). Earlier Known as “Kirgram”. Oldest Shiva temple in India, built in the 13th century and renovated by Raja Sansar Chand in the 19th Century.

13. Chamunda Devi Temple

The Chamunda Devi Temple is situated in Chamunda of Kangra District in Himachal Pradesh. This temple constructed in the 19th Century.

14. Bhoothnath Temple

The Bhoothnath Temple is situated in Mandi District of Himachal Pradesh. This temple was built by Raja Ajbar Sen in 1527 A.D. and this temple devoted to Ardhnarishvara.

15. Panchvakta Temple

The Panchvakta Temple is situated in Mandi District of Himachal Pradesh. This temple constructed in the 15th Century. It has a 5-faced picture of Lord Shiva.

16. Trilokinath Temple

The Trilokinath Temple is situated in Mandi District of Himachal Pradesh. This temple was built by Sultan Devi- the Queen of Raja Ajbar Sen in 1520 A.D.

17. Shayama Kali or Tarna Devi Temple

The Shayama Kali or Tarna Devi Temple is situated in Mandi District of Himachal Pradesh. This temple was built by Raja Shyam Sen (1641-1679) A.D.

18. Madho Rai Temple

The Madho Rai Temple is situated in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh. This temple was built in 1705A.D. and this temple is devoted to Madho Rai (Krishna).

19. Kamaksha Devi Temple

The Kamaksha Devi Temple is situated in Karsog of Mandi district in Himachal Pradesh. This temple was built in 10th - 11th century A.D. This temple in Pagoda Style.

20. Prashar Temple

The Prashar Temple is situated in Pandoh of Mandi district in Himachal Pradesh. This temple was built in 1346 A.D. by Raja Ban Sen.

21. Shikari Devi Temple

The Shikari Devi Temple is situated in Sundernager of Mandi District in Himachal Pradesh. This temple is devoted to Goddess Shikari Devi.

22. Sankat Mochan Temple

The Sankat Mochan Temple is situated in Tara Devi of Shimla district in Himachal Pradesh. This temple is devoted to Hanumanji.

23. Jakhoo Temple

The Jakhoo Temple is situated in Jakhoo Hill Shimla of Shimla district in Himachal Pradesh. This temple is devoted to Lord Hanuman ji is situated at the height of 8500fts. (approx).

24. Hatkoti Temple

The Hatkoti Temple is situated in Jabbal Tehsil near Rohru. This is devoted to Goddess Hatkoti & Built in the 7th century. It has an ASHTADHATU image of Mahishamardini Maa Durga.

25. Kalivarri Temple

The Kalivarri Temple is situated in Shimla. It was built in 1845 A.D. this temple is devoted to Goddess Shayamla Devi (Shimla was named after this Goddess).

26. Tara Devi Temple.

The Tara Devi Temple is situated in Shimla and devoted to Goddess Tara Devi.

27. Bhima Kali Temple

The Bhima Kali Temple is situated in Sarahan. Earlier Sarahan was known as Shonnitpur.

28. Sun Temple

The Sun Temple is situated in Nirath of Rampur. This temple is devoted to the ‘Lord Sun’.
Also Known as the “Sum Temple Of Himachal Pradesh”.

29. Bijali Mahadev Temple

The Bijali Mahadev Temple is situated in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. This temple is devoted to Lord Shiva. A 60 feet staff above the temple attracts divine blessing in the form of lightening and breaks the “Stone Linga” in the Sanctum.

30. Manu Temple

The Manu Temple is Situated in Manali district. This temple is devoted to the great Ancient Law Giver ‘Manu’.

31. Hidimba (Dhungri) Devi Temple.

The Hidimba Devi Temple is situated in the Manali.this temple was built by Raja Bahadur Singh in 1553 A.D. The Annual Dhungri fair is celebrated here in the month of May.

32. Jamlu Temple

The Jamlu Temple is situated in Malana.
Devoted to the Saga Jamadagni Known as the Jamlu Devta. He was the husvand of Renuka Ji & father of Parashuram.

33. Raghu Nath Temple

The Raghu Nath Temple is situated in Kullu. This temple was built by Raja Jagat Singh in 1651 A.D. This temple is devoted to Raghu Nath Ji - The Chief diety of Kullu. The temple has an image of Raghu Nath Ji that was brought from Ayodhya.

34. Kartikeya Temple

The Kartikeya Temple is situated in Kankhal. This temple is devoted to the Kartikeya, the son of Lord Shiva.

35. Manikaran Temple

The Manikaran Temple is Situated in Manikaran. This temple is well Known for Hot water springs. Guru Nanak Dev visited here for meditation.

36. Gauri Shankar Temple

The Gauri Shankar Temple is situated in Jagatsukh. This temple was built in 8th Century.

37. Arjun Guffa

The Arjun Guffa is situated in Prini.
Arjuna practiced austerities to get the powerful Pashupati Astra from Indra Devta. This temple is devoted to Lord Shiva.

The Trilokpur Temple is situated in Trilokpur of Sirmour district in Himachal Pradesh. This tmeple was built by Raja Deep Parkash in 1573 A.D. The temple is Devoted to Goddess “Mahamaya Bala Sundare” & also Known as ‘Chaurasi Ghanto Wali Devi’.

57. Jagan Nath Temple

The Jagan Nath Temple is situated in Sirmour district in Himachal Pradesh.
The temple was built by Raja Budh Parkash in 1681 A.D.

58. Gayatri Temple

The Gayatri Temple is situated on the bank of Renuka in Sirmour district of Himachal Pradesh. The temple was built by Mahatma Paraya Nand Brahmchari.

59. Shalooni Temple

The Shalooni Temple is situated in Solan district of Himachal Pradesh. The temple is devoted to Shoolini Mata.(Solan was named after this Goddess).

60. Trilok Nath Temple

The Trilok Nath Temple is situated in Udaipur of Lahaul-Spiti district in Himachal Pradesh. The temple was built by Raja Lalitaditya in the 8th century. The temple Adorned with one metre Lamaistic marble image of Avalokiteshvara.

61. Marikula Devi Temple

The Marikula Devi Temple is situated in Udaipur of Lahaul-Spiti district in Himachal Pradesh. The temple was built by Ajay Varman.

62. Mindal Devi Temple

The Mindal Devi Temple is situated in Devi Kothi of Lahaul-Spiti district in Himachal Pradesh. The temple constructed by Raja Umed Singh in 1754 A.D.
